It was born out of poverty, racial & class inequality, kids with no source of recreativity to go to, & most of all, New York. It went from being a thing to do with your friends when you're bored to it being on the radio globally with trillions coming in every year. some would argue that hip-hop isn't just a verb, adjective, a rhyme or idea, its also life, or a way of life. krs-one made that statement, that HIP HOP IS LIFE, essentially. the united nations even considers hip hop as a religion. and coming from my point of view, it is. for kids stuck in the urban city life like me, alot don't believe in god because we figured if there is a god, why would he let us hurt each other? why would god want somebody to kill someone just because they don't follow their religion? when hip-hop on the other hand promotes peace, understanding & knowledge. hip hop is in my blood. as you can see in the above picture, the four elements of hip hop are:
Graffiti
MCing
DJing
Breakin' (Breakdancing)
all 4 elements combined and you got a juking ass party. not everyone is hip hop, and not everything is hip hop though. now with that being said, hip hops all about the struggle. struggle of being broke, happy, sick, everything. you can struggle through anything in life & throw some catchy rhymes & beats & you got a hit. to be hip hop, you cant do it for the fame or money. you do it for the growth as an artist and the passion you share for spilling your guts on the mic & not giving a fuck what your fans like because when you're an artist, you create art portrayed through your eyes and ears, you don't change for your fans or anybody else. yeah you might go through different phases & struggles, but the inner essence of genuity in taking care of yo' shit as a hustler can never be taken from you.

Beautiful Frank. Keep it up. But also try to write more posts in prose as well as poetry.
